Our Mission

The mission of Corning Chinese Association (CCA) is to facilitate networking and personal/professional development amongst the Chinese community and those who are interested in the Chinese culture; to promote Chinese culture in the Southern Tier Region of New York State; and to provide a means to bridge the Chinese and American cultures.
Please read the CCA History to find out how our organization has evolved over the years.
Our Members
CCA has approximately 450 members of all ages and many nationalities. Our core starts with Chinese from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and other places. Many CCA members are American families who adopted children from China. We also have many members of other nationalities who are interested in the Chinese culture.
Our Events and Activities
CCA has many fun activities and important events throughout the year. Our annual Spring Festival Celebration is usually the biggest event of all. CCA Mother’s Day concert is another major event that features performances by our talented members. We also have our annual Mid-Autumn Gathering and many other activities such as Line Dance Classes, Cooking Classes, sports etc. We’ve had our own CCA Youth Orchestra, CCA Chorus, Peony Dance Team. Other than these fun networking opportunities, CCA members also come together to volunteer at the local community activities such as “Special Olympics.” CCA has actively organized and participated in Corning Incorporated’s cultural awareness events. Please check out our Gallery and Events pages to rekindle those fond memories.
CCA activities are regularly announced in the CCA Newsletter, the major news media and information carrier for CCA community published monthly by CCA.
Our LOGO

The current CCA logo is adopted by the CCA committee in July 2005 after an invitation to all members to submit designs and ideas. The final adopted version is an amalgamation of efforts by many CCA members.
The predominant red color is chosen to indicate warmth, happiness and festivity. The characters in black are for association to the color of ink used in traditional Chinese calligraphy. One could easily relate this part of the design to the decorative and symbolic Chinese couplets used during celebrations such as the Chinese New Year, weddings and inaugurations.
The silhouette of two gaffers in the circle can be found on the “Little Joe Tower”, a landmark of downtown Corning. The red circle that symbolizes eternity and fulfillment embodies the union of CCA and Corning.
The majestic golden dragon in the middle is the focal point of the logo. In traditional Chinese culture, Chinese often refer themselves as “Descendents of the Dragon”. The golden color which is the color of imperial dragon denotes the meaning of wealth and dignity.
We hope this logo will remind you a connection between the Chinese culture and Corning, a place that our members call “home”.
